Plastic Waste Management 

To raise awareness, influence policies and catalyze action, we have partnered with the Kenyan and Canadian governments, NEMA, KEPSA, KAM and businesses to make the process of change faster. Together we have worked on the National PET Forum, a UNEA side Event and a Blue Economy side event. Together with this coalition, 0ur efforts to tackle plastic waste continue in other dynamic ways like the annual conference, building partnerships and knowledge exchange.

The Purpose of this was to spur a discussion on the importance of Biodiversity for Businesses and why they should take part in creating the difference – this led to the possibility of a nationwide tree planting campaign-changethestory. We are currently identifying partners and developing an action plan

Women in Extractives Forum

Creating a space where women in extractives is not only of importance to women in the sector but a recognized crucial element for sustainable and inclusive extractive practice development. The forum brought together various key female! players in the extractive industry in Kenya, led by the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Mining. Among the recommendations, was that business in this industry adopt sustainable inclusive business practices. As a result, SIB-Kenya is still in conversation with the partners, including base titanium on how to introduce impact measurement and improvement steps in these companies.
