SIBKenya bringing private sector representatives, leading the private sector view on partnerships with NGO’s, communication, stakes, partnership nurturing and results. In the era of the Sustainable Development Goals, there is increased interest from non-governmental organizations to go beyond engaging with government and communities to engage with the private sector, a key player in the development arena. Businesses are also increasingly concerned with the impact of their activities on communities and the environment, which is a shared concern of NGOs. How to effectively engage across these two sectors, however, deserves more reflection.
Impact: Provided an opportunity for Dutch-funded strategic partners under the Dialogue and Dissent program to share lessons learnt, and reflect on new ways of working that can facilitate cooperation across the nonprofit and private sectors, for the benefit of sustainable development and human rights.
